July 21, 2009:

The Union Bargaining Committee met with the employer to start negotiating your next contract. It was a pleasure to be joined by the Corvallis & Salem Area Non-Foods Union Bargaining Committee. We thank them for their active involvement.

We were able to tentatively agree on some language issues, however the employer was not prepared to give the Union an economic counter proposal.

Our next bargaining date is tentatively set for August 27, 2009 and will once again be held at the North Bend Labor Temple.

We will continue to keep all of you updated as we move forward.
